Planning Permission Finally Granted For New Course at Westerham Golf Club

After a protracted planning process, planning permission was granted in November 2011 for the new 9 hole Par 3 course (designed by DWGD) adjacent to the 18 hole Westerham Golf Club in Kent.   The original course, owned by Altonwood Limited headed by ex Crystal Palace Chairman Ron Noades, was designed by David Williams and opened in 1997.

The new 9 hole Par 3 layout is immediately adjacent to the course, and utilises a former 15 acre sandpit.   However, environmental constraints including the necessary protection of many invertebrates which occupied the former sandpit, have caused a protracted planning process, but has resulted in a successful permission late in 2011.    Construction is proposed to start in Spring 2012.
