Construction Completed At New Par 3 Course For Westerham Golf Club
April 11th, 2016
DWGD designed the highly successful 18 hole course at Westerham on the Kent/Surrey border, which opened in 1997. Originally owned by the late Ron Noades of Crystal Palace FC fame, the tree-lined 6300 yard long venue is an extremely popular course for members and visitors alike.
DWGD added an extensive short game practice area a few years later and, for the past five or six years, has been looking at the possibility of the creation of a 9 hole Par 3 course on a disused 15 acre sandpit adjacent to those practice facilities.
The sandpit had been partially filled and the course was created by continuing that infilling to create the final contours. Construction was undertaken by Keltbray during 2014 and 2015, and will finally open for play in summer 2016.
