David Williams and Angel Gallardo have been invited back to Golf Club de Lausanne overlooking Lake Geneva in Switzerland as part of their ongoing consultancy contract with the Club. One of the Club’s long standing concerns is that their magnificent clubhouse and extensive terrace has very little view of the 18th green, the 1st and 10th holes running essentially across the front of the clubhouse, with the 18th and 9th greens beyond. Supporters of Welsh golf were overjoyed when the R&A announced recently that the British Seniors Open would be played over the links at Royal Porthcawl in South Wales in 2014, this will be the first time that any major Open has been held in Wales. Continue Reading »

David Williams Golf Design has been appointed with Neil Coles to provide a design service at The Royal St. George’s Golf Club near Sandwich in Kent, which hosted the recent 2011 Open Championship won famously by Darren Clarke.
The work includes the design of a new practice chipping green close to the Club’s practice ground, which is being designed to replicate the characteristics of the greens and greenside bunkers found on the course itself. Other work includes the provision of new forward tees at the 5th hole, and minor modifications to the practice ground.
