Spain’s No 1 course, PGA Golf Catalunya, hosts successful 2012 Q School Finals

Ranked earlier this year as Spain’s No 1 course in the prestigeous top100courses website, the Stadium course at PGA Catalunya Resort, along with it’s sister Tour Course, once again hosted the dramatic Final of the European Tour Qualifying School.

Held for the third year in succession at the resort, the early December event was a six round tournament, with the leading 25 players (plus ties) qualifying to secure playing rights for the 2013 European Tour schedule.  Over 120 players – who had qualified from earlier Qualifying events, played two rounds each over both courses, before a cut and the leaders playing their final two rounds over The Stadium Course.

The winner was England’s John Parry with nineteen under par after six rounds, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, a number of Europe’s finest players – including former Ryder Cup players – failed to retain their cards.
