FIRST PHASE COMPLETED AT SANDFORD SPRINGS
After DWGD had completed a course audit for the 27 hole Sandford Springs Golf Club on the Hampshire/Berkshire borders, the Club decided to put the proposals into action, commencing with the 9 hole loop known as The Park Course. All the bunkers were renovated and a small number of new ones created, and with one or two bunkers which had become redundant filled in.

As David Williams explains .."The re-bunkering exercise was essentially to bring the course up to date, as although it was only constructed just over 20 years ago, many of the bunkers were not now testing the longer hitter".
The work was undertaken in a 6-week period in Autumn 2004 by Barrelfield Construction Limited, and it is proposed that similar renovation works to the other two nines, The Lakes and The Wood, will be undertaken during Autumn 2005.
