Conwy (Caernarvonshire) Golf Club is generally regarded as the finest course in North Wales, its status being confirmed when it became the first club within Wales to host a Final Qualifier for the Open Championship when it was selected in 2006. It has also been selected to hold the Wales Seniors Open in 2007, and the British Ladies Strokeplay, also next summer.
DWGD had re-built the Par 3, 2nd green a few years previously, as the former putting surface had been reconstructed during World War II and was the only non-sand based green on the course.
The reconstruction work was carried out by M. J. Abbott Limited, and the new green and surrounds were highly praised during the qualifying event.
