"D J GOLF DESIGN" CREATE NEW SCOTTISH MASTERPIECE

DWGD and European Seniors Tour Professional David J. Russell have joined together as D J Golf Design in creating two 18 hole Championship length courses on the Archerfield Estate in the East Lothian district of Scotland, situated immediately between the historic Muirfield course and the North Berwick West Links.
The project includes a 5-star hotel, the restoration of the historic Archerfield House, and 100 new dwellings.
However, as David explains, "Although with sand based soils, centuries of agriculture had reduced the land to an almost entirely flat plain, and therefore the main aim of the design has been to return the land to its original undulating dune-like conditions".
Built in 2002 and opened for play in 2004, two courses have been created, the Fidra Links closer to the coast with 9 holes in trees, and the Dirleton Links closer to the village.
